Poland Producer Prices Fall for First Time in Over a Year
Producer prices in Poland decreased 0.1 percent year-on-year in October of 2019, after a revised 0.8 percent rise in the previous month. It marked the first fall in producer prices since February of 2018, as manufacturing cost dropped (-0.6 percent vs 0.3 percent in September) while prices slowed for mining & quarrying (1.8 percent vs 4.0 percent); electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (3.8 percent vs 4.1 percent) and water supply, sewerage, waste management & remediation activities (2.6 percent vs 2.7 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices went down 0.4 percent, following an upwardly revised 0.4 percent gain in the previous month.

Polish Producer Inflation Steady at 3-Month High
Producer prices in Poland increased 0.9 percent year-on-year in September 2019, the same pace as in the previous month and above market expectations of a 0.5 percent gain. Producer inflation remained at its highest level since May, as prices continued to rise for mining & quarrying (3.9 percent vs 2.2 percent in August). Meanwhile, cost slowed for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (4.0 percent vs 4.4 percent); water supply, sewerage, waste management & remediation activities (2.7 percent vs 2.8 percent) and manufacturing (0.3 percent vs 0.4 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices went up 0.4 percent, following an upwardly revised 0.3 percent gain in the previous month.

Polish Producer Inflation Below Forecasts
Producer prices in Poland increased 0.7 percent year-on-year in August of 2019, following a downwardly revised 0.5 percent rise in the previous month and below market expectations of a 0.8 percent gain. Prices advanced faster for water supply, sewerage, waste management & remediation activities (2.8 percent vs 2.3 percent in July) and mining & quarrying (2.3 percent vs 1.6 percent) while manufacturing cost went up 0.2 percent, after showing no growth in July. On the other hand, cost slowed for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (4.4 percent vs 5 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices edged up 0.2 percent, following a 0.1 percent increase in July.

Poland Producer Inflation Edges Up in July
Producer Prices in Poland increased 0.6 percent year-on-year in July of 2019, higher than a downwardly revised 0.5 percent gain in June and in line with market expectations, as mining & quarrying cost rebounded (1.7 percent vs -2.3 percent in June). On the other hand, prices advanced at a softer pace for manufacturing (a flat reading from 0.2 percent); electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (5.1 percent vs 5.2 percent) and water & waste management supply (2.2 percent vs 2.4 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.1 percent after falling 0.5 percent in the previous month.

Poland Producer Inflation Slows to 15-Month Low of 0.6%
Producer prices in Poland increased 0.6 percent year-on-year in June of 2019, easing further from a 1.4 percent gain in the previous month and slightly below market expectations of 0.7 percent. It was the lowest producer inflation since March 2018, as cost slowed for manufacturing (0.3 percent from 1.1 percent in May) and water and waste management supply (2.2 percent from 2.4 percent). Also, prices fell for mining & quarrying (-2.4 percent from 0.3 percent). On the other hand, cost advanced faster for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (5 percent from 4.7 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices decreased 0.4 percent, after a 0.2 percent rise in May.

Polish Producer Inflation Slows to 13-Month Low
Producer prices in Poland increased 1.4 percent year-on-year in May of 2019, easing from a 2.6 percent gain in the prior month and against market expectations of 1.6 percent. It was the softest producer inflation since April 2018, as prices advanced at a softer pace for manufacturing (1.1 percent vs 2.2 percent in April); mining & quarrying (0.2 percent vs 5.0 percent) and for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (4.7 percent vs 5.3 percent). Meanwhile, producer inflation was steady for supply of water & waste management (at 2.5 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices were up 0.2 percent, following a 0.4 percent gain in April.
