The Dutch consumer confidence index edged down to -2 in November 2019 from -1 in the previous month. The assessment towards the economic climate worsened (-5 vs -4), as consumers were a little less positive about the economy in the past twelve months (5 vs 7) and a fraction more negative about the economy in the coming twelve months (-16 vs -14). Also, households found the time for making large purchases a little less favorable (6 vs 7). Meantime, the willingness to buy was unchanged (at 1), with consumers views toward their financial situation in the past year being the same as in October (at -6), while opinions about their financial situation in the coming 12 months were slightly more positive (2 vs 1).

The willingness to buy turned positive (1 vs -1 in September), as consumers's views toward their financial situation in the next twelve months improved a bit (1 vs 0), while their opinions about their financial situation in the past year were less negative (-6 vs -7). Also, households found the time for making large purchases more favorable (7 vs 5). Meantime, consumers' assessment towards the economic climate became more negative (-4 vs -3), with their views in the past twelve months becoming less positive (7 vs 8) while those for the coming year were unchanged (at -14).
